The game takes place in the Netherworld in a school called the Maritsu Evil Academy. To be a good student, you have to do bad things like skip classes or refusing to complete homework. The "bad students" are those who come early and participate in class are delinquents. Mao hasn't attended class since the school started and is considered a top honor student. His future goals include surpassing his Overlord father and becoming an Overlord himself.
After reading a few mangas, Mao concludes being a hero will help him achieve his goals as, "Heroes are the ones who defeat devils". Raspberyl, a delinquent of the school, is troubled by Mao's ambition to become a hero since it will take away her position as Number One Delinquent. Rasp attempts to talk Mao out of this hero business, but
Almaz, who's a hero, misunderstands the situation and tries to save the day.
Mao defeats Almaz and becomes a Hero, which is one step closer to becoming an Overlord to him. That's it for the story.
